A very famous and savory Ligurian delicacy is Pesto. Pesto is made from basil, parmesan cheese, pinenuts, extra virgin olive oil, garlic and salt, and commonly serves as a pasta sauce.
Liguria is famous for there olive oil, and is one of Italy's largest and most imporant producers. Olive oil can be found in many of the Ligurian cuisines such as in pasta, fish, and vegetable dishes.
